VACCINATION CLINIC BASICS

  • Our vaccination clinics are operated on a first-come first-serve basis. We can not control the waiting periods as it depends on the volume of patients being served at the time.
  • Registration should only be performed by the individual who is responsible for making all medical and financial decisions. You must be 18 years of age or older to register. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian register and must be present at the time of service.
  • All dogs and cats must be on a leash or in an animal carrier. No exceptions. Although your pet may be well-behaved off-leash, it is possible other visiting pets may not interact well with others. If you do not have a leash one can be provided. For everyone’s safety this policy is strictly enforced. We do have a separate waiting area for cats to eliminate/reduce stress.
  • Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit/debit cards and cash. We will not accept checks and do not offer payment plans.
  • Ohio requires that all pets (including indoor pets) be vaccinated and kept up-to-date on rabies vaccinations.
    • Dogs and Cats must be at least 3 months of age or older to receive a rabies vaccination.
    • All pets between the ages of 3 months and 1 year of age will receive a 1-year rabies vaccination.
    • Pets over 1 year old with documented proof of a prior rabies vaccination are eligible to receive the 3-year rabies vaccination.  Accepted forms of documentation include:
      • Prior rabies certificate.
      • Medical records directly from your current veterinarian that provides clinic/hospital information and date given. (Hand written vaccine records/books will not be accepted.)
      • Verbal confirmation from your veterinary facility via phone.
    • Pets over 1 year old that are not able to provide prior vaccination records will receive the 1 year vaccination.

  • We offer vaccination clinics to further provide discounted services without requiring a physical exam. Vaccinations do not include a physical exam. Although a brief over-view of the pet is performed prior to administering vaccinations, an in-depth physical will not be performed unless requested. If you have questions or concerns regarding your pets overall health you may request a Physical Exam and will be charged a Physical Exam Fee.
  • Please notify our staff prior to receiving vaccinations if your pet has had a previous allergic reaction to any vaccinations. Any pet that has had a prior allergic reaction to vaccinations will receive a benadryl injection prior to vaccine administration and will be charged accordingly.
  • Before leaving the vaccination clinic, notify the veterinary staff if your pet shows any signs of an allergic reaction. These signs include: Trouble Breathing; Vomiting; Diarrhea; Swelling; Itching excessively; or develops any abnormal behavior.
  • TAHO reserves the right not to vaccinate any animal in the event that the animal does not appear to be in good health.
  • If your pet becomes ill after leaving our vaccination clinic, please contact our emergency department as soon as possible.
